Policies and Procedures

 

Principles

 

Here at Revolution Gymnastics and Sports Centre all our staff members operate under the same 6 basic principles:

Staff

 

 

All Revolution staff members are highly qualified with N.C.C.P Certification, Risk Management, and First Aid. With decades of experience working with children in sport, we offer premier quality in coaching for all programs.


Attire 

For the safety of all participants it is important that appropriate attire be worn to class.

 

 - Gymnastics

  •  Boys: T-shirt & sport shorts

  •  Girls: Gym suit (short or long tights optional) - no bathing suits

  •  Hair: Hair that can reach the eyes must be tied back

  •  Feet: Bare feet only, no gymnastics or ballet slippers are necessary 

 

- Teen & Adult Programs

  •  Any comfortable sport clothing 

 

- Other Programs

  •  Participants are expected to wear the required program uniform to all classes.

Special Considerations 

  • Cuts, warts or any open sores must be bandaged before class
  • Absolutely no jeans or jewellery (except stud earrings)
  • No clothes with snaps, buckles or other bulky objects may be worn during class
  • Participants wearing inappropriate attire will be asked to change or may not be allowed to participate for safety reason



 

 

*Absolutely NO jeans will be allowed in any program. Participants wearing inappropriate attire will not be permitted to participate for safety reasons.

  
Class Cancellations

 In the event of inclement weather and situations out of our control, please call the gym or visit out website.  Cancellation information will be available a minimum of1 hour prior to the start of class.  Should classes be cancelled for any other reason, you will be notified (in person or by way of message) via telephone at the primary phone number provided at time of registration.   

*Please note we do not offer make up classes for inclement weather cancellations or situations out of our control.

  

Make-Up Classes

Make-up classes are available on a sign up basis only.  Should you require a make-up class please contact the office to sign up for the next available date.  

 

Special Consideratons

  • No make ups offered for cancellations out of our control.  (Weather, Power outages, etc)
  • Limited to 2 per child per term (Term 1 Sept- Jan/ Term 2 Feb-June) 
  • Sign must be done a minimum 4 weeks prior to the end of the applicable term 
  • Missed make up classes may not be rescheduled 
  • Statutory cancellations are re-scheduled on pre assigned days are not included as make up classes 
  • Subject to availability and are not guaranteed 
  • No refunds for missed classes or make-ups 

Progress Reports

There is no pass or fail here at Revolution.  Evaluations are completed to simply track your child's progress and ensure they are placed in the appropriate group.  Your child will develop improved self confidence as they aquire new skills and are rewarded with a report and ribbon at the end of each term to mark their accomplishments.  

Drop Off and Pick Up

We insist that parents come into the facility to drop off and pick up their children. For safety reasons no athletes will be allowed to wait outside the facility. We are unable to supervise children after the end of their class, as our coaches are required to be in the gym. Please ensure that you arrange to pick up your child no later than their ‘scheduled’ end time. In the event you are ever late, please call the gym and speak with a staff personally. We cannot ensure that messages on our machine will be received within your child’s class time.

 

Viewing

We offer a large, bright and spacious viewing area with ample bleacher seating.  Viewing is optional however, if your child demonstrates separation anxiety, has difficulty focusing or following direction or if your child is in need of assistance to use the washrooom we require that you stay for the duration of the class.  Parents may wathc from the veiwing area only.  For safety reasons, we ask that parets in no way try to enter the gym at any time.  If you need to speak with your child's coach, please do so prior to or following class,  In the event of emergency circumstances, please speak with our office staff or any Revolution staff member to assist you in getting your child to you.  

*Parents, we ask that you keep a vigilant watch on siblings and young visitors while you are viewing. Climbing on the bleachers, roughhousing ir attempting to perform gymatics skills is dangerous and not permitted in the viewing area.  

 

Join our 'Wish List'

We are always looking for suggestions on our programs. If there is a program you would like to see added to our sessions or a particular time you may want one of our current classes to start, please let us know. We will do everything we can to try and make it work for you!

 

Cancellation Procedures

Any cancellations prior to the start of the term will have a $25 cancellation fee for programs that are 2hrs or less & $50 cancellation fee for other programs.

Any cancellations during the term (after trial period for new members) will require 1-month's notice which will be chargeable, $50 cancellation fee for programs that are 2hrs or less & $100 cancellation fee for other programs.

All cancellations (except by new members) will not be refunded but will be applied as program credits for any Revolution programs & merchandise. Each case will be reviewed individually. 

Trial Period for New Members Only (Attending Revolution program for the first time) - If you are not satisfied with your child's program by the end of your 2nd class, we will refund you the remaining program tuition or apply it as a program credit. We only require that you pay for the classes you take.  

* Please note the annual registration insurance fee is NON-REFUNDABLE.  

* We reserve the right to change the policies & procedures without notice.

 

Safety First Policy 

The best interest of every child will always be our first priority here at Revolution Sports Centre. Please understand that in order to adhere to this policy, we reserve the right to remove any participant from our programs that may hinder their own development or the development of the other children in our facility by way of their inappropriate behaviour. Our hope is that everyone fully enjoy the time they spend in our facility.
